My daughter literally said “I have aha moments when Stephanie explains chemistry. She not only asks for the answer but then asks why? I didn’t know why, so she made a chart explaining the why and it made so much sense.” My daughter has been able to understand previous material and feels confident getting ready for her final. I highly recommend!

“First session was great. Stephanie was perceptive about what my daughter didn’t know, and what she needs to do to get up to speed. Spent a lot of time with her to get her ready for a quiz. My daughter immediately responded positively to her teaching style.”

“Yes, we can work around your schedule!”
and more answers to common questions
Do we have to meet every week at the same time? Most students who work with me benefit from 1 to 3 weekly sessions on set days and times. This consistency helps avoid the “illusion of knowledge” trap, in which a student thinks that they understand what’s going on in class but then feels clueless on the test, as well as time-management pitfalls, like underestimating how much time they will need to reach competence or mastery on a given topic.
To accommodate busy extracurricular schedules, we can avoid conflicts by looking over the entire semester calendar and pre-selecting days+times that will work for each week. Alternatively, some diligent students only meet with me on an as-needed basis: instead of scheduling weekly tutoring, they contact me when a quiz or test is coming up, and if I have availability, we schedule as many sessions as they’d like!
Can I work with you even though I don’t live in South Florida? Yes, I work with students across the U.S. and around the world in public school, private school, boarding school, and homeschool.
I meet with students online, using Zoom for face-to-face interaction and screensharing, as well as an online whiteboard where we can upload photos of worksheets, post PDFs of assignments, and see each other’s writing in real time.
Students or parents who start off hesitant about online tutoring, due to bad memories of early COVID schooling, are typically pleasantly surprised at how productive our online tutoring sessions are. I’m happy to address any questions or concerns you may have about making virtual tutoring work for you (there’s space to include comments at the end of your booking request). Whereas big tutoring companies often require you to gamble on pre-paying for a package of hours, Tutoring with Stephanie is a pay-as-you-go agreement, flexible and fair.
Are you available over holidays? During spring break? During the day? Yes, I’m available daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., U.S. Eastern Time, year-round. That means weekdays and weekends, January to December, including all school days off. (See my workday converted to your time zone here.)
